Where should a beginner start with privacy controls?

There are many settings and I do not know which ones matter most.

Begin with your primary accounts, recovery options, app permissions, and sharing settings. Work through one service at a time using its official instructions.

A short starting checklist would help me too. The full settings menu can be a lot to take in.

I would find it easier to finish one account review before moving to the next.
