Which parts of the methodology help readers understand how an educational claim was checked?

The distinction between direct observation, provider documentation, and inference is especially useful. Methods should also identify dates, scope, and limitations.

An example showing observation, documentation, and inference side by side would make that distinction easier for me to apply.
