Research Access, Gifts, and Support Policy

Material access, gifts, or support associated with educational work should be disclosed and must not buy an editorial conclusion.
What This Policy Covers
This policy applies to research access, temporary access, event invitations, and similar non-cash support provided by brands, agencies, or distribution partners.
Editorial Independence Rules
- Receiving a sample does not guarantee publication, ranking placement, or positive framing.
- Brands do not pre-approve ratings, conclusions, or final copy.
- Negative findings are published when supported by evidence.
- Coverage decisions are made by editorial staff, not commercial partners.
Disclosure Requirements
When material support is relevant to reader trust, we disclose that context in or near the related content.
Conflict Management
Contributors must disclose potential conflicts before publication. Assignments may be reassigned if impartiality could reasonably be questioned.
Enforcement
Violations of this policy may result in content revision, contributor reassignment, or termination of partner participation in product review workflows.
Platform Alignment Process
Ad operations are reviewed against current platform requirements, including labeling, placement behavior, traffic quality controls, and restricted-content handling. Configuration changes are applied when policy interpretation or platform guidance evolves.
Where uncertainty exists, we default to a conservative implementation approach rather than aggressive monetization.
Escalation and Remediation
Policy warnings, account notices, or anomalous behavior trigger internal review. Affected placements or integrations may be paused while remediation is completed and validated.
Documentation Standard
When material support is provided, contributors are expected to record that context so disclosure decisions remain consistent during publication review.
Coverage Refusal Rights
We may decline coverage when sample terms, access limits, or partner conditions conflict with independent testing and reporting standards.
